Griffey hoping for trade?

According to The Daily Herald, Ken Griffey Jr. is looking to get out of Cincinnati and on to a team with playoffs in their future. It makes sense that he would want to go somewhere with a chance to win now that his career is winding down and I’m sure the Reds wouldn’t mind moving his salary once they are out of the playoff picture completely.

The Daily Herald speculates that either Chicago team would benefit from the addition of Griffey, but I think only the Southsiders have have a possible spot in the OF for him. If Jermaine Dye doesn’t return to some of his previous form or Carlos Quentin doesn’t stay hot, I think Griffey would be a great upgrade for them. A big question mark on the subject is Griffey’s health. It might be way to early to talk about this now because he may be injured before the Reds even begin considering moving Griffey elsewhere.
