Kenny Lofton breaks off talks with Reds
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that the Reds and free agent CF Kenny Lofton have broken off all contract talks. This seems to be due to Lofton’s insistence on getting a major league deal, while the Reds were only offering a minor league contract. Chances are Lofton will find a major league deal somewhere, but I’m surprised Dusty didn’t push harder to acquire him. Perhaps this will lead to Baker going after another former CF of his Corey Patterson…it is known that they have already talked this offseason.
